Asher Recites Entire Declaration of Independence
A Young Patriot’s Feat: Asher Recites the Full Declaration of Independence from Memory
In an era when sound bites and scrolling feeds dominate our attention, one young man from Louisiana has taken a bold stand for history, memory, and patriotism. Asher, a homeschooled student with a deep respect for America’s founding principles, has accomplished a remarkable feat: reciting the entire Declaration of Independence from memory.

This inspiring moment took place as part of the Youth Declaration Project, an initiative of the American Judicial Alliance, which encourages young Americans to engage deeply with the foundational documents of our nation. By learning the full text of the Declaration, students like Asher are connecting with the ideals that have shaped generations.
“What an extraordinary accomplishment,” says Retired Judge Darrell White, president of American Judicial Alliance. “John Adams, our second U.S. President once said this about the Declaration:
‘I am well aware of the toil and blood and treasure that it will cost to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. Yet through all the gloom I can see the rays of ravishing light and glory. I can see that the end is worth more than all the means….’ That Declaration is indeed America’s foremost “Organic Law” and it deserves national interest.”
Adams’ words remind us of the gravity and hope embodied in that historic document. And Asher’s dedication reminds us that the values of liberty, justice, and courage still burn bright in the hearts of America’s youth.
The Declaration of Independence is far from being a relic of the past. It is a living statement of principle and purpose. When a young person takes the time to internalize its message and speak it aloud, they bear witness to the spirit of freedom that has guided this nation for nearly two and a half centuries.
Kudos to Asher for honoring our nation’s heritage in such a profound way. May his example inspire others to learn, remember, and boldly proclaim the truths that make America unique.
